Javious Cook and Latoya King play for the Pike County High School basketball teams. The Lady Pirates are 3-0 on the season so far this year. The Pirates lost two close games and won over Northgate on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Basketball teams get strong start

The Pike County High School Pirates and Lady Pirates basketball teams have started their season with some strong wins and close losses. The Lady Pirates defeated Union Grove 50-40 Tuesday, Nov. 27. Latoya King finished the game with 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals. The Lady Pirates look to have a promising season with great leadership in team captains Lauren Duncan and Kristen Beckham.
