‘˜Keep the smiles, love and music flowing’

The search is still ongoing for a new location for the Hollonville Opry House and around $15,000 has been raised by the community so far to continue the tradition of live music in a family-friendly atmosphere. The venue in Hollonville was sold in January after 27 years of free live music for visitors from near and far. A special benefit event for the Hollonville Opry House will be held Saturday, April 13 from noon to 6 p.m. at the New Salem Event Center at 776 Vaughn School Road in Griffin. ’Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts for all the support – financial, offers to help at the benefit, offers to donate food for the benefit and especially your love and prayers,’ said Charlotte Kirkland. ‘Keep the smiles, the love and the music flowing and may God bless you all!’ Several bands will play during the benefit event including Line Creek, Cedar Hill Bluegrass, Bonnie Ridge Bluegrass and Kirkland and Friends as well as others. Lunch will include barbecue sandwiches, plates, chips, beverages and desserts. Donations to keep the music going can be made through GoFundMe.com by searching for Hollonville Opry House. Donations by check can be mailed to Hollonville Opry House, P.O. Box 51, Williamson GA 30292. For more about the nearly 30-year history of the Opry House, go to hollonvilleopry.com.
