After hearing from commissioner Tamra Jarrett and citizen Joy Walker at the Sept. 25 meeting, the Pike County commissioners voted 3-2 to change the date for an animal control workshop to Saturday, Oct. 6 at 9 a.m. Commissioners Tommy Powers and Doug Mangham opposed the change because they said they would be unable to attend. ’Having the meeting at 5 p.m. seems like as bad a time to meet as any other,’ Walker said. The public workshop will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in the commission meeting room at 79 Jackson Street in Zebulon. The workshop had previously been planned for Thursday at 5 p.m. For information, call the commission office at 770-567-3406.
