An OSHA investigator visited the courthouse again Monday, Sept. 10 and found two workers not wearing protective gear. According to planning and development director David Allen, the county will not face any citations from the visit.’There was an issue with one roofer who had taken his harness off to move something and was told to put the harness back on,’ he said. ‘One of the electricians was not wearing protective gear around an electrical panel.’The OSHA employee investigated the courthouse again after hearing more reports about the amounts of dust in work areas.’He looked at the dust levels again and said that they were not excessive,’ Allen said. ‘We have done as much cleaning as we can to reduce the dust levels. Workers are doing sheetrock in the lobby now and will be done with that soon. Once that’s done, it will cut down on a lot of the dust. They will be sanding down the sheetrock during off hours – not during work hours.’Allen said in the next couple of weeks, offices will be moved to temporary work spaces in the new addition. As employees are moved from each office, the offices will be renovated and they will move back into their newly renovated offices.
