Arrest made, two theft suspects sought

Early Tuesday, Oct. 25 Pike County Sheriff’s Office offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the recent rash of entering autos that have occurred in Pike County. They issued a search warrant in Meansville and arrested Benson Jones, 18, for theft by receiving stolen property. Chase Brown and Jake Odom fled the scene and were tracked by officers, but are thought to have gotten a ride out of the area. Officers found 13 weapons and other stolen items at the residence. Brown is wanted in another county for entering auto. Anyone with information about the two suspects on the run can call an Investigator at 770-567-8431 and the information can remain confidential. From the sheriff’s office: The thieves have been targeting vehicles that are left unlocked at residences during the night and have taken numerous firearms in these thefts. As a reminder, please lock your vehicles and remove firearms from them to deter thefts. Don’t hesitate to call and report any suspicious activity that you might observe.
