Community members have rallied together to make the Pay It Forward Back to School Bash set for Saturday, Aug. 30 a success. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Pike County Memorial Annex building on Highway 19 and will include school supplies, vision screenings, child I.D. kits, inflatables, resources for parents and free hair cuts. Last year, around 150 book bags packed with supplies were distributed and this year 200 are expected to be distributed.’I would like to thank our amazing community partners for being so generous in their support of the 2014 Share It Forward Back to School Bash to supply basic school supplies and backpacks for up to 200 children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade,’ said Pike Community Resource Network director Mike Powell. ‘The Chick-Fil-A cow will also be visiting with us this year and providing refreshments.’Contributing partners of the 2014 Back to School Bash include Amerigroup, Centerfield Sports, Chick-fil-A, Christ Chapel, Church of Joy, Coker Pediatrics, Concord Baptist Church, Davis and Company Inflatables, DFACS, First Baptist Church, Zebulon, Flint River Daylight Lodge 761 F&AM, Georgia Top Riders, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Grace Harbour and Harps Crossing Baptist-Hollonville, Kidz Konnection, Life Springs UMC, McLeRoy Realty Associates, Meansville Baptist Church, MSM-CAPP, Miller’s Collision, Mt.
