Biker swerves to avoid deer, crashes

A Pike County man laid injured in a ditch for a considerable length of time here late Friday night after losing control of his motorcycle while dodging a deer and crashing.Russell Scott, 38, was atop a 2006 Yamaha when the deer ran out in front of him on Old Lifsey Springs Road. He was seriously injured, taken to an area hospital and then transferred to the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.According to the Pike sheriff’s office, Scott laid in a ditch for about an hour before he was found by his wife.
