The Pike County Branch NAACP, supported by the Concerned Citizens for Pike County will sponsor its annual Black History Month program at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at True Believers for Christ Church, 5800 Hwy. 109 West in Molena.

The theme for this year’s program is ‘Black Joy: Resistance, Resilience and Reclamation’ and will include several performances from locals – including an original skit.

The keynote speaker will be Christopher Hightower, a city councilman from Barnesville.

Local talent will be displayed at the program, which will include singing, dancing, poetry recitations and an original skit.

“The Road to Freedom” was written by Jerquanna Jones Key and will be performed by local actors and actresses.

“Everyone in the Pike County community is invited to attend,” said Brenda Mathis.
