Burousas bond hearing postponed; counsel named

The first appearance bond hearing for alleged killer Teresa Mangham Burousas has been delayed two weeks due to a scheduling conflict involving her defense attorney. Her bond hearing is now set for Sept. 3 at 9 a.m. at the Pike County Courthouse. Defense lawyer Ricky Morris Jr. of McDonough sought the delay. Burousas, 46, was arrested July 31 by sheriff’s deputies on charges of felony murder, malice murder and aggravated assault. She is accused of gunning down her husband, 60-year-old Jimmie (Buzz) Burousas Jr., outside their home at 560 Caldwell Bridge Rd. near Concord on July 1. The victim died from gunshot wounds to his head and torso. Burousas, the daughter of Pike County commission chairman Doug Mangham, is incarcerated at the Upson County Jail.
