Cars flips, injures three

In a single vehicle wreck on Prayer Mountain around 8:30 p.m. April 29, a car flipped onto its roof and three people were injured but no one was killed. A lifeflight helicopter arrived at the scene but service was refused and the driver and two passengers were all transported by ambulance to area hospitals. Driver Amber Cromer, 30, passenger Patricia Kimmons, 33, and passenger Ralph Smith, 43, were all transported by ambulance to Upson Regional Medical Center with non-lifethreatening injuries. ”The car was traveling north on Highway 19 coming from Upson County,” said Pike County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Rowan. “At one point, witnesses say someone pulled out in front of them, the car overcorrected and turned over. It appeared they were all wearing seatbelts. The car ended up in the driveway of Teen Challenge.” Traffic was temporarily stopped while the helicopter landed, but the scene was cleared quickly and the three injured transported to the hospital.
