A child at Pike County Primary school was confirmed as having mumps Nov. 11 by school officials.This message was posted on the school website:”We have a confirmed case of the MUMPS at the Primary School. The School District has been in contact with the District 4 Health Department. They advised us that if your child’s vaccinations are current, then your child is well protected. They also recommend the “booster vaccine”.If you have specific questions, you are encouraged to call the school and ask for the school nurse or call your family physician.”
