A Juneteenth celebration will be hosted on the courthouse square Saturday, June 17 by Concerned Citizens for Pike and supported by the Pike County Branch NAACP Unit 5228.
The Juneteenth program will start at 1 p.m. and will feature the Rev. Terrence Curtis as speaker. He is pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Jonesboro and Barnesville.
“We look forward to celebrating this event with you, your family and friends,” said Patricia Beckham of the Pike County NAACP. “The program is slated to be a memorable occasion for the citizens of Pike County and surrounding areas. Please bring a chair because seating will be limited.”
The event will include a variety of vendors who will start setting up at 11 a.m. on the courthouse lawn.
