For nearly a quarter of Pike County’s 200 year history, the city of Concord has hosted the annual Independence Day Children’s Bike Parade. This year’s parade will start at 10 a.m. Monday, July 4 with lineup set for 9:45 a.m. in front of the Concord Cafe building.
“This is such a great way to get the holiday started,” said Cherie Holmes. “We will have the same rules as in years past and ask that participants do not bring motorized vehicles, only bikes, wagons, skates and scooters. Patriotic clothes and decorations encouraged. Pets welcome. Snacks will be served afterwards at the pavilion. There will be a drawing in 3 age groups for a prize. Line up on the parade route to cheer the kids on!”
