Christopher Edwards gains GA Supreme Court nomination

Griffin Judicial Circuit Judge Christopher C. Edwards has been nominated for the vacancy on the Georgia Supreme Court created by the resignation of Justice Leah Sears. The nomination when to Michael J. Bowers, chair of the judicial nominating commission, and Gov. Sonny Perdue. Edwards has been a superior court judge for 10 years. Before that he was a prosecutor and a private practice attorney. Signing the nomination were fellow judges Paschal A. English, Johnnie L. Caldwell and Tommy R. Hankinson, District Attorney Scott Ballard, public defender Joseph J. Saia, Pike County Sheriff Jimmy Thomas and numerous other state legislators and judicial and law enforcement officials.
