Classes start this month at Pike’s new Community Center

Pike County’s Community Center will host its first programs for local citizens to take advantage of with Body Weight Bootcamp and Beginner Line Dancing set for Tuesdays and two Beginner Line Dancing classes also set for Thursdays. The classes will start April 3 and will run for four weeks total. Yoga classes will begin the week of April 10.

“There are two registration options, a discounted monthly rate that gives you access to unlimited classes for the program you choose, that registration link is available through our website pikecorec.org. Or you can pay the daily drop in fee of $15 – which is a one time fee per class, per day,” said recreation assistant Victoria Bryan. “The daily drop in is only available in person before the class is set to begin and will only be available at the front desk of the rec community center. If you plan to utilize the daily drop in, please make sure you arrive at least 30 min early prior to your class start time to register. Class sizes are limited and are first come first serve for daily drop ins.”

Beginner Line Dancing with Michelle McCullough will be held in the Activities Room from 5:30 to 6:30 and again from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. on Tuesdays. Line Dancing will also be held Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 and 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. The cost is $50 for unlimited monthly classes or $15 per class. The Line Dancing class is for participants 12 and older.

Body Weight Bootcamp with Carrie Epperson will be held in Classroom 2 from 9 to 10 a.m. and the class is for participants 16 and older. The cost is $50 for unlimited monthly classes or $15 per class. Participants need a towel, water and resistance bands are optional.

Beginner Yoga will be offered for all ages from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Mondays in Classroom 2 for $80/month or $15 drop in. Yogalates will be offered from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Fridays for all ages at the same rate and in the same classroom.
