Clint Eastwood visits Williamson airport

Clint Eastwood visited Peach State Airport in Williamson Tuesday, Oct. 13 as he directed scenes for an upcoming movie about Sully Sullenberger regarding his experience landing an airliner on the Hudson River. The movie is called ‘Sully’ and Clint Eastwood directed scenes all day Oct. 13 that pertain to Sullenberger as a young man of 16 when he was learning to fly. ’We did several flying scenes with a helicopter filming along with static scenes in my Stearman biplane,’ said airport founder Ron Alexander. The production company moved in about 10 trailers with materials, cameras and equipment. They also brought in several old cars and vehicles as background props. The scene was set in 1967.  Around 100 movie employees were on site for the filming of the scenes. Tom Hanks has been cast to play the role of Sullenberger.Â
