Commissioners acquire property for future judicial center

The Pike County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to acquire property off Adams Street in Zebulon for a future judicial center during their Tuesday, Nov. 10 meeting. Commissioners went into executive session for half an hour before reconvening to agree to purchase the property. They authorized the transfer of funds for the acquisition of two lots beside the cemetery that adjoins the school property. County Attorney Rob Morton said citizens who still reside on the property will have utilities paid for until they can relocate.
