The 42nd annual Concord Country Jubilee will be held Oct. 17 and 18 with live music and entertainment, food, a pumpkin carving contest, the parade at 2 p.m. Saturday, the Jubilee Jaunt 5K at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and much more. The two-day event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m with the car show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. ’There are so many different flavors of vendors. I believe it is going to be an awesome event this year,’ said Concord city clerk Sharon Casey. Some of the many attractions include children’s inflatables, sand art, train ride, face painting, the pony patch and the petting zoo. The pumpkin decorating contest will be held Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. and participants are asked to bring their own items for decorating. The pumpkins can’t be carved, but a variety of items can be added to them to create characters. For details, call contest coordinator Rebekah Hanson at 770-584-3505.Pine Grove Baptist Church will host the Jubilee Jaunt 5K starting at 7:30 a.m. in front of the Strickland building. Registration is $20 through Oct. 10 when it increases to $25 and t-shirts are included. Live entertainment will include the PCMS band, the Bonnie Ridge Bluegrass band, Kirkland and Friends, Fellowship Baptist Missionary Mass Choir, Turning Point and Four Fathers Quartet. There will also be karaoke at the gazebo for those interested.There will be lots of meals to choose from with vendors offering barbecue, hot dogs, corn dogs, chicken, coney dogs, french fries, hamburgers, vegetables, biscuits, blooming onions, shrimp and grits, jambalaya, fried pies, boiled peanuts, funnel cakes, cupcakes, cookies, homemade cakes, candy, Italian ice, fresh produce and more.Search for the Concord Country Jubilee on facebook for more details and updates.
