The 44th annual Concord Country Jubilee is set for Oct. 21-22 with vendors organized in a new way this year, placing all food vendors and all children’s activities in their own areas. The historic Concord Jubilee will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days and the annual parade will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 with grand marshals Perry Wilson ‘The Train Man’ and his wife Faye. The couple always brings their popular train ride for children to enjoy as they travel the length of the Jubilee festivities and have attended since the festival’s start. Contact Concord City Hall at 770-884-5221 to participate in the parade. Due to the beautification project made possible by the Nelson Memorial, vendor locations for the 2017 Concord Country Jubilee have been restructured. ’We believe these changes are in the best interest of our vendors and visitors as well as ensuring protection of the wonderful additions to the landscape. Be sure to visit the information booth and find out where your favorite vendor is located,’ said organizer Anita Neath. Children’s activities will now be relocated in the grassy area behind the fire station and will include pony rides, the Farm Bureau petting zoo and inflatable bounce houses. Most food vendors have been relocated to the center of town. ’Our vendor numbers have increased this year, with the addition of many new craft booths and there will also be vendors on the back street,’ said Neath. The Second Annual Jubilee Car Show will be held Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. The car show has been relocated to the east end of town in the field near the Post Office and city park. For more information on the car show, contact Doug Neath at 770-468-2239.Entertainment is scheduled in the city pavilion for both days.Designated parking areas for Jubilee visitors will be marked with signs. Visitors are asked to be considerate of resident’s properties and not to block driveways or the flow of traffic.
