Pike County commissioners voted at a special called meeting Thursday, May 23 to approve payment of attorney’s fees for magistrate judge Marcia Callaway-Ingram in the amount of $95,000 with the understanding that the insurance carrier for the county will pay half of the amount. Interim county manager Rob Morton said the payment is based on the court order from August 2012 and affirmed by the recent Supreme Court Order. The decision was approved by a 4-0 vote. Chairman Briar Johnson was unable to attend the meeting so vice-chairman Tommy Powers convened the meeting with commissioners Carol Bass, Tamra Jarrett, Tommy Powers and James Jenkins in attendance.
