Crapemyrtle Garden Club looks to grow

The Crapemyrtle Garden Club was founded around the year 2000 as a nonprofit organization. In addition to regular meetings and field trips, they work on various gardening projects around the county. Recently, garden club members met in downtown Zebulon to plant three giant pots with snapdragons and violets to brighten the west side of the courthouse square. They also pruned roses and bushes, did some weeding and cleared off the sidewalks.

“Our club consists of a dedicated group of women – not all are avid gardeners – who come together to celebrate life, cultivate friendships, inspire and uplift one another and nurture our passion for gardening,” said Crapemyrtle Garden Club president Cathy Cox.

Regular garden club meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month from September to June – complemented by enriching field trips and garden tours throughout the year.

Individuals interested in becoming a part of the Crapemyrtle Garden Club can contact president Cathy Cox at 404-626-4490 or secretary Abigail Rawlins at 706-427-3512.
