If you love live big band music and need a night of dancing, stop by the Candler Field Museum’s benefit dance and silent auction Saturday, March 19 starting at 6:30 p.m. Partygoers are encouraged to dress in World War II era attire but it is not required.’This is going to be a great evening as we enjoy swing band music from the 1940s,’ said owner Ron Alexander. ‘All proceeds from the event will go toward building the Doug Davis Hangar, the second structure at the Candler Field Museum.’ The Modernaires, an 18 piece orchestra from the Atlanta area, will play starting at 7 p.m. Local DC-3 pilot Bob McSwiggen will perform a swing dance routine with his partner. Tickets are $45 and may be purchased at Barnstormer’s Grill, online at peachstateaero.com or by calling 770-467-9490.
