Mrs. Nancy “Darlene” Rawlins, age 87, of Zebulon, passed away June 18, 2022, at her residence. Mrs. Rawlins was born January 13, 1935, in Thomaston, daughter of the late Alton and Marilee Day Treadaway. She had been a resident of Zebulon for the past 70 years. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Zebulon and the Steadfast Sunday School Class. Mrs. Rawlins retired from the State of Georgia Juvenile Justice Department with over 20 years of service. She enjoyed life by spending time with her family, camping, traveling, and gardening. She also enjoyed participating in the Zebulon Garden Club and volunteering at the Pike County Outreach Center in Molena.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harry Rawlins, her son, Christopher Rawlins, grandson, Rodney Chad Rawlins, daughter-in-law, Tammy Rawlins, and brother, Alton Treadaway.
She is survived by her sons and a daughter-in-law: Glen and Kim Rawlins and Keith Rawlins all of Zebulon; grandchildren: Chrissy Tansey (Michael), Amy Rawlins, Allen Rawlins, (Sarah), Austin Rawlins, Katie Rawlins, and Bailey Rawlins; great-grandchildren: Libby Baynard, Brayden Gazaway, Ashton Gazaway, Landen Baynard, Lathen Baynard, Anna Ruby Griffin, Liam Blount, Brooklyn Rawlins and Laura Rawlins; great-great-grandchildren: Braelei Baynard and Zealand Gazaway; brother: Roger Treadaway; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Deanna Reece and Sherry Sprayberry for the wonderful care they provided to her. Because of them, Mrs. Rawlins was able to stay in her home that she dearly loved.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, at 12 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Dr. Ed Hoard officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Zebulon.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the funeral home.
