A decorated military leaders will be part of a memorial service this Saturday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. to honor fallen hero Lance Cpl. Jeffrey Walker and others who have served Pike County in the armed forces during the dedication of the Pike Community Memorial Building on the school campus. Retired Major General James A. Kessler will speak during the dedication and give a tribute to J.D. Walker during the ceremony, which will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. He also during the memorial service held in Iraq in Walker’s honor. ”I think it’s great for him to make arrangements to come down and do this, it just amazes me,” said Theresa Rutledge, mother of the fallen hero Walker. “It would be nice to have community support for this important event.”In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Pike Auditorium.
