Deel signs softball scholarship with Lee University

By Greg Parrott Lady Pirates softball player Kyndal Deel signed with Lee University to play softball there for the next four years. Lee University is a liberal arts college in Cleveland, Tenn., and a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Deel plans to major in special education or physical therapy, with the intention of working with special needs children. She also wants to coach. Deel’s athletic career at Pike includes softball, basketball and golf. She earned a varsity letter in all three sports for four years. She was also voted Most Athletic Girl by her peers in Senior Superlatives. She has also earned the Scholar Athlete award all four years of high school. In her four years of softball with the Lady Pirates, she was a three time All-Region and two time second team All-State center fielder. This past season, Deel finished ninth in state (all classifications) in stolen bases and 41st in state (all classifications) in batting average.
