Disaster drill set for Feb. 17

This Friday, emergency responders will converge on a Pike County school as part of a planned disaster drill. Letters will be sent and calls will be made to parents of Pike County students to inform them it is only a drill. *************** ©The Pike County Journal Reporter/pikecountygeorgia.com: This information may not be reprinted, broadcast or distributed electronically in any form or fashion without express consent. Those involved in the disaster drill will include the Pike County sheriff’s office, emergency services, local and state Emergency Management Agency members, Mid Georgia Ambulance and regional hospitals. ’We’ve had great cooperation between all local first responders, law enforcement and regional hospitals. We want to go through this mock drill to make sure our response is coordinated and refined so in the unlikely event we do have a disaster on campus, the response is effective,’ Dr. Duncan said.
