Dogs attack in Meansville

A pack of wild dogs attacked and killed a goat and wounded two other animals at a home in Meansville Feb. 5. The homeowner said about a dozen dogs of all ages and breeds attacked the animals in the pasture behind his home. ’My son came running in to tell me they had the goat down,’ he said. ‘They attacked my goats and they attacked my cow. They killed one goat and they injured another goat pretty severely and I don’t know if it’ll survive. They shredded the ear of my cow and she’s hobbling around but should be okay.’ FPCA is raising money to help fund an animal control center in the county and recently entered the Pepsi Refresh contest in an attempt to win $50,000 toward that goal. Roland said the group hopes to start a volunteer program to provide dog owners with fencing and those owners can help build fences for other dog owners.
