Pike Historic Preservation is hosting the Chic’ Grillin’, Toe Tappin, RC Cola & Moon Pie Event starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Whiskey Bonding Barn, 9263 Old Zebulon Road, Molena.
“The board of the county’s award-winning historic preservation organization will greet supporters of Pike’s historic buildings and landscapes for the annual BBQ fundraiser on Aug. 12. The gathering will be held at PHP’s first preservation success story: The 1870 Whiskey Bonding Barn. This year’s menu features delicious grilled chicken with all the sides, the unforgettable flavor of cold RC cola and the traditional finish of Moon Pies for all. The feast will be enhanced by cold beer and water as the gathering is entertained by live music,” said Chris Curry.
This event is the start of the nonprofit’s annual year of get-togethers, programs, award celebrations and the 20th annual SlowExposures Photography Festival where visitors from across the U.S. enjoy a dozen fine art photography shows. The shows feature “the rural South” and is displayed in historic buildings throughout the county on the third weekend of every September.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for kids under 12 and can be obtained by calling Chris Curry at 770-841-9268 or stopping by A Novel Experience Bookstore in Zebulon, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
