Don’t miss Shrek the Musical Jr.

Members of the Pike County Middle School Theatre Club will present Shrek the Musical Jr. at the Pike Auditorium Thursday and Friday, March 2-3 and Sunday, March 5. ’Don’t miss out on the classic tale brought hilariously to life on the stage,’ said theatre director Lori Bush. ‘Meet all your favorite characters and support these awesome middle school kids.’ Tickets are $5 each for students ages 3 and up and $8 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, March 2 and 3 and at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5. ’PCMS is getting ready to launch our very first full scale musical production,’ said director Bush. ‘It has been a monumental task, but these kids have amazed me with their dedication.’ ’They have worked super hard to put on a great show, and I am so proud of how far they have come,’ she said. ‘We also have two PCHS seniors and two juniors who have taken on leadership roles for this production, Autumn Clark, music director; Valerie Gales, stage manager; Madison Bush, student director/acting coach; and Carly Brentlinger, choreographer. Because of their love for theatre, these students have put in countless hours just to work behind the scenes to help provide this opportunity to the younger kids, and I think it’s great.’Â
