Don’t miss UGA extension’s free 2024 Lunch & Learn classes

The University of Georgia extension in Pike County announced a year’s worth of programs as they offer free webinars the second Wednesday of the month (with a few exceptions).

“We are starting off the year by announcing the 2024 Lunch and Learn series,” said extension agent Brooklyne Wassel. “Join us the second Wednesday of each month to learn about a new topic. It’s all virtual, free, and informative. Simply email Brooklyne.Wassel@uga.edu to register and receive the Zoom link.”

The monthly zoom meetings will start at noon and will cover interesting animal facts and teach various homesteading skills. The classes started with a soil sampling class on Jan. 10.

Upcoming classes include Brambles on Feb. 14, spring gardening on March 13, container gardening on April 10, beef cuts on May 8, Do-It-Yourself cleaning supplies on June 12, seed saving on July 10, fall gardening on Aug. 14, backyard pecans on Sept. 11, Vermiculture on Oct. 9, birds of prey on Nov. 13 and live wreaths on Dec. 4.
