Citizens across Pike County will celebrate Easter with events planned at many local churches, including Christ Chapel’s Egg Drop at 1 p.m. Saturday April 4 and the Community-Wide Children’s Easter celebration in downtown Concord at 4 p.m. April 4. Christ Chapel will hold its annual Easter celebration services as well as the Egg Drop set for 1 p.m. April 4 at the corner of Highway 19 and Old Zebulon Road. Other Christ Chapel Easter celebrations include Good Friday services at 7 p.m. in the youth building April 3, a Saturday night service at 7 p.m. April 4 and three Easter morning services at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. at 115 Sullivan Road, Zebulon. Old Mt. Calvary Baptist and Concord Baptist will team together to hold a Community-Wide Children’s Easter celebration and egg hunt in downtown Concord at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 4. The event will feature a guest appearance from the Easter bunny and other entertainment. Children through sixth grade are invited and hotdogs and dessert will be served.Life Springs Church will hold its Easter Eggstravaganza at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4 with free fun including an egg hunt, hay ride, inflatable, popcorn, ice cream, face-painting and Easter bunny visit. The Easter event will be held rain or shine.
