A third of Pike County's registered voters cast ballots early in the mid-term election with a line stretching around the office of elections around 4 p.m. Friday on the last day of early voting.

Election Day; all precincts reporting

All of Pike County’s eight precincts are reporting with a 66.28% turnout. Pike County voters allowed for exemptions from school district taxes for older citizens with the the exemption passing by 8,239 votes to 1,009.

Voters in the city of Williamson approved the sale of distilled spirits in the city by a vote of 181 to 151

In local elections, Meansville City Council Post 1 candidate Jim Cairns won with 58 votes to Ashley English’s 44.

In the Molena City Council Post 1 race, Catherine Parker had 52 votes to Jennifer Riggins’ 93 votes.

The eight precincts reporting include 9,446 voters casting ballots out of a total of 14,251 registered voters.

In Pike, 5,506 voters cast ballots early (more than a third of registered voters), with a line around the building at 4 p.m. Friday.
