Warden Edd Sanders has worked at the West Central Georgia Pre-Release Center for 14 years but perhaps his most influential work has been done outside of the facility’s walls ‘“ in the Pike County community. He was recently named an Everyday Hero by the Family Unification Network.’He is well-known, highly respected, fair and compassionate towards people in his community, his staff and inmates as well,’ said Family Unification Network director JoAnn Cash. ‘He’s a great leader and visionary because he sees creative solutions, new directions and possibilities.’He is an ordained minister for Souls’ Harbor Church and an adjunct instructor at Southern Crescent Tech and the Georgia Corrections Academy. His family attends Pike Church of Christ and his son William plans to join the Army.’He doesn’t seek credit for things done well but is always ready to accept blame for things gone wrong,’ said Cash. ‘He tries to do the right thing even when it isn’t popular. He’s always willing to go that extra mile.’
