Fall fun, Halloween haunts

By Sherri Ellington For ghosts and goblins, princes and princesses ‘“ and even a slew of superheroes ‘“ the Downtown Development Authority Spooktacular event is set for 5:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31. Halloween on the Square will include a costume contest and candy distribution at participating businesses. The PCES Fire Station 6 located in Williamson on the corner Williamson/Zebulon Road and Reidsboro Road will be giving out Halloween Candy from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 31. Life Springs United Methodist Church will hold a Truck and Treat from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31. There will be treats from trunks of vehicles, an inflatable slide, hay rides, popcorn, cake walk, games, free family fun and a youth hot dog meal fundraiser for missions. The Pike County Arts Council will host a Halloween Haunted Trail 7 to 9 p.m. in the Zebulon City Park next to city hall. New Hope Baptist Church will host a Trunk or Treat, Friday, Oct. 31 from 5:30-8 p.m. and the event will include inflatables, hot dogs and more. The PCES Fire Station 6 located in Williamson on the corner Williamson/Zebulon Rd. and Reidsboro Rd. Will be giving out Halloween Candy from 6pm-9pm on October 31, 2014.
