Family expresses thanks, vigil set

The Wilson and Turner families have issued a statement regarding the tragic traffic accident that killed Eve Wilson and seriously injured her mother, Nancy. In addition, a prayer vigil will be held for the family at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on the courthouse square in Zebulon. The family statement follows: James, Nancy and their families would like to thank all for the thoughts, prayers and words of compassion. Knowing that Nancy and Eve are loved by so many truly touches all of our hearts. On Tuesday afternoon, Eve’s fight for life on earth came to end and her journey to Heaven began. James and Nancy have donated Eve’s vital organs in hopes that they will help others fight through their own tragedies. While Eve’s body remains on life support awaiting the completion of the organ donation procedures today, we know her soul is already in Heaven. Nancy remains in an Atlanta area hospital undergoing treatment for the severe injuries to her legs. She has had one extensive surgery and faces several more surgeries and months of physical therapy. The families ask for everyone’s continued prayers. The family also asks that in lieu of donations or flowers to please buy Girl Scout cookies in Eve’s name. She was a member of Troop 10311. They hope to have enough cookies purchased to send them to the troops overseas. To place an order please see Emily at Trends Hair Studio on Highway 18 W., or you may call 770-358-1000.
