Famous author Terry Kay to visit library Saturday

Renowned Georgia author Terry Kay will be at the J. Joel Edwards Public Library in Zebulon for a presentation and book signing on Saturday, Sept. 24. A member of the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame and recipient of the Governor’s Award in the Humanities, Terry Kay is the author of 16 works of fiction, including To Dance with the White Dog, which is currently being read by the students of Pike County Middle School. ’Our students are so excited about meeting the author they are studying and getting their books autographed. This is a memory they will long cherish,’ said teacher Patricia Talley. To Dance with the White Dog is one of three of Terry Kay’s books that were made into a Hallmark Hall of Fame movies. Others include The Valley of Light (2007) and The Runaway (2000). Kay will also be discussing his latest novel, The King Who Made Paper Flowers, set in the idyllic river district of Savannah. This event, sponsored by the Friends of the J. Joel Edwards Public Library, begins at 1 p.m. It is free and open to the public. Local bookseller A Novel Experience will provide the new release and other Terry Kay titles for purchase on site.
