Fire claims Molena home

A family lost their home to fire early Saturday morning on Roberts Quarters Road in Molena. Four people were in the home when the fire started but made it out safely. Now they are left without a place to stay or clothes to wear. ”I was out of town at the time,” said commissioner Roosevelt Willis about the destructive fire at his sister Alberta Blackmon’s house. “It happened between Friday and Saturday morning.” Willis said he is unsure if there was insurance on the house. Clothing items are needed for the son and grandson of Blackmon who were staying at the home, including socks and underwear for both, size 34×36 pants, XL shirts and 11 1/2 shoes for her grandson and 4x shirts, size 60 pants and 9 1/2 shoes for her son. To make a donation, call 770-567-8111 or leave clothing at the commissioners office.
