Call EMA director Jimmy Totten at the PCES office at 770-567-2018 for information. The Pike EMA will meet Thursday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Strickland building in Concord. The meeting is open to all civic, service and faith-based organizations in Pike. Representatives from GEMA and the American Red Cross will be there as well.’We’re asking that one or two members from each organization attend,’ Totten said. ‘The goal is to hear what the different organizations have to offer the citizens of Pike during a disaster.’ GEMA and the Red Cross will share the types of assistance they can provide to residents in case of disaster. ’We’ll be asking who can provide shelters, who can cook meals, which organizations can provide personnel to help with a variety of services within the community,’ Totten said.
