On Flag Day, June 14 at 7 p.m. American Legion Post 197 will host a ceremony for old, worn and torn U.S. flags that have been flown proudly in order to properly honor and dispose of them. The ceremony will take place at the Post 197 facility on 645 Meansville Street in Zebulon. The public is invited to bring their retired flags and witness their ceremonious disposal.’If you cannot make the ceremony, you can drop off your flags at the white mailbox-looking container in front of the Post 197 facility,’ said commander Bryan Richardson. ‘They will be added to the other collected flags for honorable disposal. For those attending the ceremony, bring your lawn chairs.’
