Free rabies vaccines offered for Pike pets

Pike for Paws will provide vaccinations for local animals at the Pike County Animal Control facility at 956 County Farm Road in Williamson from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11. The free vaccine clinic is sponsored by Moody-Daniel Funeral Home and MRJ Construction Inc.

The most recent case of rabies in Pike County, involved a raccoon on Pitts Road that was confirmed as having rabies on Feb. 3.

The Pike for Paws Microchip and Vaccine Clinic will provide free rabies vaccinations (a canine da2ppv or feline HCP vaccination) and a microchip at no cost. Non-Pike residents will need to pay $40 for the package.

All dogs must be on non-retractable leashes and all cats must be in carriers.
