Freeze may lead to snow Thursday

Pike County has entered the deep freeze and will stay there for a while as unusually cold temperatures will dominate the local forecast for the next week. Overnight lows are not expected to climb above the freezing mark until Jan. 12. Lows in the mid to low 20s are forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Thursday’s high is expected to reach the mid 40s but the low will plunge again to about 27 degrees. Moisture will move in and overnight snow is a possibility here. Friday will be brutal with a high of only 33, a low of 16 and high winds which could push wind chill temperatures to near or below zero.
