Grand Jury announces True Bills

The March 2023 term of the Pike County Grand Jury convened March 28 and returned the following presentments. A true bill is a bill of indictment found by a Grand Jury to be supported by sufficient evidence to justify the hearing of a case.

Special presentments are when the District Attorney obtains a warrant or charges a suspect by taking those charges directly to a Grand Jury without an initial arrest on that specific charge. 

There were not any No Bills.

TRUE BILLS:

Patrick Lamorris Smith, 12 counts of identity fraud;

Steven Dwyne Epps, cruelty to children in the first degree;

Cecilia Renea Folds, theft by taking, identity fraud;

Katha Aniese Strozier, two counts identity fraud;

Robert Glenn Hurt, violating family violence order;

Timothy David Turner, aggravated assault, cruelty to children in the second degree;

Corey Jermane Curtis, aggravated assault, hit and run, open container;

Tabias Rakeen Turnipseed, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving under the influence (less safe, alcohol), obstruction of an officer, driving without a license, open container;

Justin Otiveous Evans, special presentment criminal damage to property in the second degree;

Eric Tyler Dorrough, burglary in the first degree;

Anthony Shackelford, burglary in the first degree;

Melvin Trevon Summers III, four counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, two counts cruelty to children in the third degree, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon;

Robert Glenn Hurt, obstruction of an officer;

Corey Jermaine Curtis, criminal damage to property in the second degree, theft by taking;
Donald Patrick Banner, simple assault, reckless conduct;

Donketrus Delano Colquitt, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer (felony), obstruction of an officer, reckless driving, hit and run, driving while license suspended, tag light violation, failure to maintain lane, improper use of center lane, driving on the wrong side of the road, violation of duty upon striking fixed object, aggressive driving, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon;

Christopher Smith Jr., two counts serious injury by vehicle, driving under the influence (less safe, drugs), special presentment driving under the influence (less safe, alcohol), driving under the influence (less safe, combined influence), three counts serious injury by vehicle, two counts reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, distracted driving.
