Halloween happenings

Zebulon businesses are ready for a season of scares as some hard working ‘“ and frightening ‘“ scarecrows stand outside as part of a Downtown Development Authority sponsored scarecrow contest.Piketoberfest is set for Saturday Oct. 29. Businesses around the square will open their doors to trick-or-treaters from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The downtown event will include a Downtown Development Authority sponsored costume party with prizes for the three best dressed, candy for trick-or-treaters, games and food.
