Help is needed to provide Christmas wishes and needs for local children this Christmas. There were 135 families who applied this year and two Angel Trees are set up at Barnstormer’s Grill in Williamson and American Pie in Zebulon. Each paper angel lists the child’s top three Christmas wishes as well as their clothing and shoe sizes. ’Each angel represents a child that will not have Christmas unless someone adopts them,’ said organizer Faye Schneider. ‘Together we all make a difference. This year’s Angel Trees are sponsored by Humbly Serving Ministries and this year our trees are dedicated to the loving memory of my sweet mother Martha Lewis who passed Nov. 15 and was with us as we started the very first Angel Trees at Greg and Carolyn Fennell’s restaurant in Williamson after the death of my son five years ago. My grandson was upset because we could no longer give his father gifts. We took our grief and turned it into a gift of love for others.’Canned food, turkeys and hams are also being accepted to supply local needy families with a Christmas dinner. Humbly Serving Ministries will also be visiting the homeless and veterans in need along with the The Foxhole Network.’Please help these needy families have a Merry Christmas and with Christmas dinner and toys for these sweet little angels on Christmas day,’ said Schneider. ‘A special thanks to TNT Christmas Tree Farms for donating the trees and to American Pie and Barnstormers for your great support every year. To Karen Crumbley and Deana Williams, my Momma is smiling because she loved you two ladies and you both have worked so hard to make this happen this year. Thanks also to Dani and Denise Robins Hudson.’
