The Pike County Backpack Program is a collaborative effort of local churches, individuals and organizations to provide around 200 students in need with meals for the weekend. Students who are recommended by school counselors are provided with meals each week and food and monetary donations are needed year round. Items that are frequently provided for students include individual mac and cheese and ravioli meals, pop tarts and granola bars as well as other items that are offered as available.
