Pike County Sheriff’s investigators made an arrest in a case involving a pedestrian that was struck while walking along Highway 18 near Oxford Circle in Concord. Shortly before midnight Saturday, Jan. 21, a pedestrian was found on the side of the road. She had been hit by a vehicle as she was walking to get assistance after her car broke down. After a short investigation, Carlene McDowell of Molena was arrested and charged with failure to report an accident with injuries, failure to maintain lane and leaving the scene of an accident. A bond hearing has not yet been held for her. Investigators located a 2004 Dodge Durango at her residence that had damage coinciding with evidence from the scene of the collision. The pedestrian who was hit by the vehicle was transported by ambulance for medical attention and is currently undergoing treatment.
