Easter will be celebrated in many different ways by area churches, including an Easter Egg Drop via helicopter hosted by Christ Chapel Community Church at 1 p.m. Saturday and a Community-wide Easter Party in Concord at 4 p.m. Saturday. For Maundy Thursday services, Good Friday services, Easter Sunrise Services and other special Easter celebrations, check the calendar items on page 6A of this week’s Journal Reporter.HELICOPTER EGG DROPChrist Chapel Community Church will host a helicopter egg drop event at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26 across from the Pike County track. The event is a family-friendly event that is open to all. Christ Chapel will also offer a Good Friday service and communion at 7 p.m. March 25 in the reVERB auditorium. Christ Chapel will have a Sunrise Service Easter Sunday, March 27 at the field across from the Pike track at 7 a.m. Attendees will need to bring a chair. Also on March 26, three Easter services will be held at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the main auditorium. An Easter Saturday evening service will be held at 7 p.m. March 26 in the main auditorium. COMMUNITY EASTER PARTY:Old Mt. Calvary Baptist and Concord Baptist churches are working together to sponsor a Community-wide Easter Party at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 26 in downtown Concord at the Strickland building.The celebration will feature a large Easter egg hunt, snacks and desserts for children through sixth grade and lots of fun. Entertainment will be provided, including a visit from the Easter bunny. EGGSTRAVAGANZA:Life Springs United Methodist Church will have an Easter Eggstravaganza at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26. The Easter celebration is open to the public and will include free family fun such as separate egg hunts for different aged kids, hay rides, inflatables, food and more. The event will be held rain or shine.
