The Homecoming parade has been moved to Sunday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m., due to potential rain on Saturday. The parade is hosted by the Pike County Pirates Touchdown Club and will kick off Homecoming Week for local students.
“We will start with a homecoming parade through town and we are encouraging all local businesses, clubs, recreation and school sports teams and anyone else who would like to show off their PC Pirates spirit to participate,” said Ashleigh Tuggle.
The pep rally that was planned for after the parade has been cancelled.
Line up for the parade will be from 2 to 2:30 p.m. and the parade will follow the same route. Participants are not allowed to throw candy along the parade route. Entries can still sign up by texting 678-663-0244 or emailing Ashleigh051386@aol.com for parade entry forms and returning them by Saturday, Oct. 1. Entry forms can also dropped off at the Pike County Chamber of Commerce between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. or in their drop box after hours at 416 Thomaston Street in Zebulon.
