Human remains found in north Pike

The Pike sheriff’s department reports human remains have been found off Williamson-Zebulon Road here.The remains could be those of Philip Eugene Chiges who has been missing since December 22, 2012.Sheriff Jimmy Thomas reported a deputy found the remains Sunday evening. Several pieces of evidence were retrieved that indicated the remains could be those of Chiges. The body was sent to the State Crime Lab by coroner Terrell Moody for positive identification and autopsy.”At this time there is no evidence to lead investigators to suspect that any foul play is involved in this death,” sheriff Thomas said.Chiges was also known as Phillip Eugene Chigges.
