Hunter Strickland is giving back to the community as he supports the Pike County Diamond Club at a free event Sunday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m. at 2876 Patton Road. The Hunter Strickland Meet and Greet will include free youth archery instruction, music, a corn hole tournament, cotton candy, popcorn, hot chocolate, funnel cakes, hamburgers and hot dogs and autographs from Strickland. Raffle tickets – with proceeds going to the Diamond Club – can be purchased via Spreadcrushers.com or diamondclubpike.com or from any Diamond Club member.’All the proceeds will go to the Pike County Diamond Club. Hunter is giving back to his old high school team,’ said Diamond Club member John Hanson. ‘He wants to do this for the community as a way to give back. That’s what the Spread Crushers organization is all about.’ The first place raffle prize will be a World Series baseball signed by all San Francisco Giants team members. The second place prize will be a choice of a two-man hunt with Strickland, either quail hunting at Indian Rock Plantation in Pike County or hog huntings in Twiggs County. The third place raffle prize will be the Spread Crushers sport package. The raffle drawing will be held Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. Participants are not required to be present to win. ’The event is focused on giving back to the community by the organization created to bring Hunting and Major League Baseball together,’ said Hanson.
